“kamel”
I made this because… this submission is a culmination of 4 years of friendship, passion, and the drive to create. I first crossed paths with Kamel, an LA-based Egyptian rapper, four years ago on a music video set. His style, charisma, and authenticity immediately struck me as star qualities. Four years later, our collaboration has blossomed into a series of music videos, photoshoots, and a solid friendship. This submission is a tribute to his talent and a testament to the magic that happens when you take a chance on someone with star potential.
I created this series to coincide with Kamels' single release, "LAX." We chose a performance scene that pays tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, filming on the same court where one of Kobe's iconic photoshoots took place. This setting captured Kamels' deep love for LA and his unwavering passion for music, embodying the mamba mentality of self excellence.
